Sound Advice 2018

The snow is falling and it seems like a long time until July, but plans are well underway for Sound Advice 2018, and we already have some really exciting news!

IMG 5080We're working on booking instructors for 2018, and at this point we can confirm that Callum Beaumont will be back at Sound Advice in 2018, and we also have the return of Steven McWhirter, the L-D of current World Champion Drum Corps, and overall World Champion pipe band, Inveraray and District. Most impressively, Steven has just won his 8th World Solo Drumming Championship, and completed a string of seven in a row! Steven has been at Sound Advice is the past, and we're looking forward to welcoming him back!

IMG 4788SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25th

Thanks to everyone who came out to play and enjoy tunes at the Mini Gathering!

We had about 40 solo piping performances, 20 solo drumming, and 10 band performances. Bands with members performing were: The Conservatory of Performing Arts, The 96 Highlanders, City of Regina, North Saskatchewan Regiment, Saskatoon Police and Prince Albert Highlanders.

Many thanks to our volunteer adjudicators for this event: Barry Robinson, Brett Stinson, Kenna Whelan, Bryde Whelan, and Eva Rennie.

Special thanks to the Regina volunteers who organized and setup the school location, operated the food service, and did all the stewarding.

Regina Pipers' Club

Regina piper Scott Young (RCMP Pipes & Drums) has organized the Regina Pipers' Club, which is described as:

"We aim to provide you with a way of keeping your pipes going strong through our long winter. If anyone out there is interested in performing, please contact the page."

Mark your calendar for the Pipers’ Club Friday night sessions! We’ll have guest performers each night, and then it’s up to you!  Bring your pipes for a tune, or just enjoy the music and chat.

This is for anyone interested in playing or listening to pipe music! Fun for all ages and skill levels. Bring your smallpipes/whistles etc. and there will be a chance

to have some tunes together for anyone who wants.
