Fraser Pipe Band

fraserThe Fraser Pipe Band is Regina's oldest youth pipe and drum band. It has been operating in Regina since 1965. The Fraser Pipe Band exists to promote Scottish culture and customs through teaching youth the art of the great highland bagpipe and highland drum. Fraser Pipe Band offers to students a specialized musical education. The training of these young people is the key for survival of our special musical form and cultural connection.

We demonstrate the cultural heritage to the community through band performances at various functions. The band performs at many community events such as Mosaic, Robbie Burns, St. Andrews Day, Remembrance Day, Curling Bonspiels (Scott Tournament of Hearts, National Firefighters Curling Bonspiel) Parades, Mothers' and Fathers' Day, Highland Dance Competitions, and other requested performances. The Band and individual members are eager to perform at special events like weddings, anniversaries, funerals, birthdays, banquets, opening ceremonies, sporting events or conventions.

The Band travels to various competitions in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta during the spring/summer months. They also travelled to Scotland in July of "96" to compete in various competitions throughout Scotland including the "World's Pipe Band Competition" in Glasgow.
