Scholarships 2011

The Saskatchewan Band Association Scholarships

The Saskatchwan Band association is offering $2,000 in scholarships for Saskatchewan pipers and drummers to attend the 2012 edition of Sound Advice. These scholarships are available to registered members of SPBA member bands.

Gordon Findlater Memorial Scholarship
The criteria is for a piper who works very hard, is great to work with as a student, and who shows great promise. Thanks to Donna Findlater for the scholarship. We're proud to honour the memory of Gordon at the school.

Fred Betker Memorial Scholarships
Sheila Betker of Saskatoon donates scholarships each year for outstanding drumming students at Sound Advice. These are in memory of Fred Betker, who had a long pipe band career with the Saskatoon Boys, the NSR, the Saskatoon Police and the Strathfleet Pipe Band. These awards will be presented on the final night of the school.

The Regina Highland Games Scholarships
The Regina Highland Games is offering two scholarships to the school, each one valued at $300. The scholarships will go to "The Most Promising Piper and Drummer" of the day, as chosen collectively by the judges.

The City of Regina Pipe Band Scholarships
The City of Regina Pipe Band is offering four scholarships for $100 to members of the Conservatory of Performing Arts Pipe Band.

The Winnipeg Scottish Festival Scholarships
The Winnipeg Scottish Festival offers two $100 scholarships for the Best Amateur Piper & Drummer of the day. The scholarships are for a tuition reduction at Sound Advice 2012.
