2018 marks twenty five years of the Halifax Citadel Society providing a living history program at Park’s
Canada’s Halifax Citadel National Historic Site. Many employees return year after year for summer
employment, and take advantage of the opportunity for advancement. Wearing the full dress uniform of
the 78th Highlanders Scottish regiment of the British Army from 1869, our pipers look as impressive as
We’re looking for pipers who have been playing for 1-2 years, or more. Pipers will work as a Military
Interpreter, learning the British Army drill of 1869, and playing the period music of the time.
● Hourly pay rate of $11.00/hr (plus musician bonus), 5 day work week (we operate 8am-6pm, 7
● Work with, and learn from other excellent musicians
● Access to free lessons, and bursaries towards your education
